He's cracked my code!

Yesterday I was talking to Gigi (my mom) about whether it was s-n-a-c-k time. Barrett heard this and said, "I want a s-n-a-c-tay! I want a snack!" The night before he did the same thing with the word sticker. He missed a few letters, but he still deciphered the word! What am I gonna do now? He will definitely be able to figure out Pig Latin. Maybe I will need to brush up on my spanish...

On another day around snack time, I found Barrett with an apple he snuck from the counter. (Side note: I don't think I have ever written the word 'snuck' before. It doesn't look like a word. Is it one of those words that's not really a word but everybody uses? Maybe it should be sneaked?) It was not apple day on the allergy rotation but he had already taken a big bite out of it so I let him eat it. I was walking in and out of the kitchen and everytime I would walk past, he would say, "I'm not finished yet. Don't take my apple away." I came back at one point to remove the seeds, but the entire core was GONE! He ate everything but the stem!

This is all that was left of the apple.

I'm not sure if I'm Irish...

but you can go ahead and kiss me! There is something so fun about St. Patrick's Day. Some of us decided to meet at the park for a St. Patty's Day picnic. The weather held out despite the forecasts of impending doom and we were able to have a great time!

Movin' on up

To the Fast side. To that high speed internet in the sky-y-y.

That's right. We got high speed internet. For about a year we had hold-on-my page-is-still-loading-dial-up. No more driving 30 minutes to Panera to upload! You may have noticed the plethora of photos in my last blog post, that's because it didn't take 10 minutes per photo! We actually got the high speed internet 2 weeks ago, but I have been too busy surfing the internet to write this post.

Wow! I had a great time on Saturday at the roller skating rink! Thank you to all who came to celebrate my arrival into the thirties--you really made my day! Kinda makes turning thirty not so bad...although the soreness I'm feeling is new and not so great...but TOTALLY worth it. (there are parts of me that are sore that I didn't even realize I used in roller skating)

Here are a few photos...

Kyle loved stroller skating!

Nope, Cody didn't fall. He's breakdancing-this is called the backspin. This was cool in the 1980's! So was pegging your jeans which can also be seen in this photo. What were we thinking?

I guess Barrett won't be following in my footsteps and doing speed skating meets by age 5. That's fine by me--Forge your own path in life, boys. Don't be a follower.

Snow on March 4th

Kyle enjoyed looking at it and kept saying "That?" Barrett was very excited and told us "the snow is very, very told." I got them up extra early just so they would have enough time to play before we had to leave. It's not every day (or I should say every year) it snows here and I did not want them to miss this.

Barrett says, "Come play in the snow, Kyle!"
Kyle is thinking, "I am pretty sure I'd rather just watch."

Kyle saying, "Now I'm SURE I would rather just watch!"

Having a ball!

Turning 30...

I had a great birthday last Wednesday. Thank you to my friends and family who wished me a happy day. It was a pretty normal day. I played outside with the boys before heading to the dentist. We went out for a family steak dinner because it was beef day on the allergy rotation. For my birthday, Cody is getting me the chairs for our living room I have been wishing for. I guess this means our future guests won’t have to sit in these chairs!

The best part of the whole day was when we were walking out of Barrett’s room after tucking him in, he said, “Happy Birthday, Mommy!” We closed the door. He said it again. And again. I could still hear him saying it as I was walking down the stairs. When I got down, I turned up the monitor to hear him still saying it. Sighhhh…

The big celebration will be on March 15 when we take it back to my childhood and go rollerskating! That should be fun and I look forward to watching Barrett skate. I was his age when I first learned to skate.
