Our first visit from the tooth fairy

Kyle lost his tooth.  Well, maybe "lost" is not quite right..."knocked out" might be a better way to say it in this case.  The other day, Kyle was jumping from one piece of furniture to the next like a crazed monkey.  I walked over to him and calmly explained that I didn't think that was a good idea and that I would like him to stop before he got hurt.  Right then, he jumped from the chair, missed the sofa, and landed face first on the concrete floor, knocking out his front tooth.  That tooth had a big root on it almost a 1/2 inch long and left a big hole in his gums.  There was lots of blood, and lots of tears, and a call to the on-call dentist...again.  One of these days maybe Kyle will learn that I say no because I love him and don't want him to get hurt.
The next night he put his tooth under his pillow.  At about 5:30 am the following morning, Cody and I were awakened by a very excited boy going on and on about the tooth fairy.  She came and left him a two-dollar bill covered in gold pixie dust.

I snapped a pic through my bleary, crack-of-dawn eyes using my phone camera because he was wiping off the glitter, uh, I mean fairy dust. His still has some swelling from the fall, and the tooth next door is now a nice shade of brownish-gray.
