So we can all Rest in Peace

R.I.P.

Here lies Barrett's Nap
July 24, 2005 - January 13, 2009

It was a long, slow, painful death but
totally necessary for the slumber health
of the entire family. The loss of
mommytime will be greatly missed.

If he naps he stays up way too late. He's been resisting naps for months and months now. It seems early to me, the girl who napped through kindergarten, but he's different from me in almost every way.

sarah still makes becca and aidan have quiet play time in their rooms for at least an hour every day so that she can have mommytime.

So sad! You need to implement quiet time each day so you can keep your sanity!

What a clever, funny blog entry. It is sad when they give up the nap (Blake gave it up right after her 3rd birthday so at least you got a few more months than I did). Focus on the positives though, at least he will (hopefully) be ready to go to bed nice and early now and you'll have a little extra time to spend with him one on one while Kyle naps. Plus you won't have that nap resistance to deal with (you can spend that time doing something fun with him rather than struggling with him to fall asleep). The good thing with Blake was that she was so tired without her nap that by 7:00 bedtime was easier than ever and she is always asleep within like 5 minutes of going to bed.
